Uday Kotak is an Indian entrepreneur and banker, best known as the founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank. He was born on March 15, 1959, in Mumbai, studied commerce and management at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, and started Kotak Capital Management Finance in 1985, which later became Kotak Mahindra Finance and eventually Kotak Mahindra Bank. He has also been identified as founder and director of Kotak Mahindra Bank and has been involved in education-focused philanthropy through the Kotak Education Foundation.
